I reviewed Leap Frog’s LeapPad learning tool exclusively for elementary education. I plan to teach elementary education, and think this instrument would be perfect to help children with there phonics, spelling, counting and word pronunciation. For example, the audio computerized pronunciation of words helps students see the word and have the option of hearing how it sounds. This helps them better connect and overall gives them a better practice. The tool is entertaining and fun to use which increases the child’s want to “play” or learn with it.
These LeapPad products have a variety of different learning tools. The link here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_pce7xKchE&feature=relatedshows a LeappPad tool that helps child recognize the different parts of a bear. It also allows students to spell-out the different parts of the body with the option of audio help.
This leapfrog learning tool would be considered a drill and practice tool because it reinforces concepts that have been learned and allows them to practice as many times as they want. It helps the children get immediate feedback with the audio help that gives them directions and correct answers to the content.
